What to expect from our Open House
What will your Open House entail?
While many yoga studios offer 20-minute classes to try out various formats and instructors, we will simply be following our usual class schedule at the studio, free of charge! This will help you know which classes fit your everyday schedule, which formats you enjoy, and which instructors you really vibe with.
What is your schedule, and how do I book a class? Booking the classes you’re interested in couldn’t be easier!
Click here and simply scroll through the live calendar to the first week of June. You’ll see each class title is followed by “OPEN HOUSE” and you’ll be able to book your spot completely free! (As our space is limited, we do ask that you only book classes you know you will be attending, or come back to cancel any bookings if something comes up that keeps you from attending) If any changes are affecting the classes you’ve booked, you’ll get advanced notice via email!

What should I bring or wear to class?
Please feel free to bring your own yoga mat/blocks, but don’t stress if you don’t have any: we have mats and props available for free use at the studio! You’re welcome to wear whatever is comfortable enough to move around in, and maybe bring some water - hydration is important!

What if I’ve never done yoga/pilates/barre/etc. before?
Not a problem at all! Many people who walk through our doors for the first time are either brand new or getting back into movement after time away. Every class is taught with options and modifications, and you’re always encouraged to move in a way that works for your own body. This practice is for you, after all!

Do I need to be flexible or in shape to come?
No. That’s actually one of the most common misconceptions. These classes help you build flexibility, strength, and mobility over time. You don’t need to arrive with it!

What if I can’t keep up?
That is okay! There is no expectation to keep up. You can rest at any time, take breaks, or modify movements. The goal isn’t to match anyone else; it’s to stay connected to what feels right for you.

What classes are best for beginners?
While all of our classes are led in a way to welcome newbies and seasoned practitioners alike, we do have some classes that are especially great for someone who’s never practiced before. I always suggest our gentle yoga classes and our supported yoga and strength classes for anyone who may struggle with mobility or are just beginning their wellness journey!
Do I have to become a member in order to attend Open House classes? Are they really free?
Of course, we’d be thrilled if you could join us permanently at Empower! During Open House week, we’ll have special sales for those who fall in love with our space. However, there’s no pressure or expectation for you to become a member. You’re absolutely welcome to even take a single class and not return!

What else can I do to get ready for Open House?
Downloading our app is always a great choice! It’s the easiest way to keep track of our classes, and get encouragement sent directly to your phone! Please create an account on our website before you download our app and sign in using the same credentials. We ask that you do not create an account using your Apple ID as that can create multiple accounts for one person and confuse the users and instructors alike!
