WHICH CLASSES ARE BEST FOR BEGINNERS?
Our favorite recommendations for beginners would be Chair Yoga & Strength, Gentle Yoga, Short Flow & Slow Flow.
Chair yoga & strength is a chair-based yoga class that we also use weights in for upper body strength. We still work on our balance, but our chair is nearby for those of us who are a little extra wobbly.
Gentle Yoga & Slow Flow are both great options for those who can easily get onto the ground on their mats. Lots of modifications are offered as well as ways to bump up your practice and get a better stretch and mental exercise. Short Flow is the best of both worlds, combining long holds and balance work with spurts of faster moving flows. All of these classes utilize props and encourage making your practice work for your body and not the other way around.
CAN I BOOK A PRIVATE CLASS?
Absolutely! You have a choice of heated or unheated private sessions. Whether you’re looking for a personal yoga instructor to help with your practice, an accountability partner to create a workout just for you, or a private class with a group of your friends or coworkers, we can do it! WHAT IS HOT YOGA?
Just as it sounds, hot yoga is simply a yoga class in a 90-100 degree room. What’s the benefit? We may get our heart rates up a little higher, so that’s great for cardiovascular health. We sweat a little more, which can feel amazing. Also, the heat allows our muscles to warm up faster than in a traditional class and you might find you get deeper into stretches than you typically would.
WHAT IS BARRE-LATES?
Pilates and Barre combine in this class. Pilates involves mat work that really targets core strength, barre utilizes a ballet barre on the wall to aid in balance, lots of little pulses, and weights for upper body and core work to build long, lean muscles.
DO YOU OFFER ONLINE CLASSES?
While Empower doesn’t currently offer livestream classes, we do have an entire library of videos available for unlimited members to access at any time. There are some shorter classes, a series devoted to strong glutes & core, as well as hour-long classes of a variety of yoga and barre-lates classes.
